- March 20th, 1879: The City of Neenah appropriates 15,600 dollars for the construction of the First Ward School.
- 1906: A new high school is built due to growing congestion at the First Ward School.
- 1921: The First Ward School is renamed Washington Elementary.
- 1976: The current Washington Elementary was constructed, old building was razed.
- 2008: Washington Elementary closes for the next six years.
- Fall of 2014: Reopened to house the early childhood program.
